12 KM Walk Delta

On January 9th, 2010 we went to Deas Park in Delta.  I enjoyed the trails and not walking too much on the road.  I started out walking with a couple of ladies that were only doing the 8 Km walk - there are 3 levels and we all start out together then the shorter walks leave, then the next ones turn off then the full marathon training comes in last.   this is just starting out, it was a bit chilly and trying its darnest to rain but wasn't too bad.  We saw some amazing sights... a bald eagle and a rainbow, just to name a couple.  I guess I really should get a little camera and take it along.

The end of my 12 KM, I had joined the group at the front...at the end of 8 Km I had to do a little bit of running to catch up to the 12 K'er's!  Cause my gals had turned off to their vehicles.  This pic is nearing the end of our 12 K walk - we just had to walk past our vehicles to the park entrance then back... as some may call it.. the last leg of the journey *grin*

The next picture is optional... there is a reward at the end of the walk... we all have lunch together - some days I stay some days I don't.

I had the most awesome seafood chowder at this place!  It was delicious!  If you look to the far end of the table the lady in red slightly to the right and the guy at the end in blue are our organizers.  Husband and wife team.  He organizes the cyclists and she the walkers.   All the cyclists at this time are guys and it has been said that they start out, take a few photo's then head off somewhere for coffee, know approximately when the walkers should be getting back and meet up with us at the end.  The guys look so innocent!  hehe  There is only 2 or 3 that cycle all the others speed walk.
