Back to the walk. It does not pay to do 16 Km on one day and very little throughout the week. I need to schedule my daily walks so I don't suffer so much on the weekends! What would I do without epsom salts and topical anti-inflamitory! Here's the group photo... I am on the left of the pink coated gal (her left, your right)
This is where we began.. at the Old Stewart Farm House (a historic site) This farm over looks the Nicomekl River that flows out to Boundary Bay that ends up in the Pacific Ocean - in this area we are very close to the USA border.
A view of a trail we were on - it was beautiful! and the weather has been so cooperative. My walking buddy and I passed these two ladies right after the picture. They were 1/2 marathoners so would be taking a different route than us.
Can't forget stretching!
This is Mud Bay (Canada) - if I would have turned around and took a picture I would have taken a piece of the USA. At this point in the walk I was very tired and lucky I didn't trip taking the picture!
Made it back to the vehicles! YAY! An imaginary finish line but hey, I finished! Many of the walkers have walking poles... after this walk I am seriously considering getting a pair. They would really help going up and down a hill.
In the end we reward ourselves by meeting for lunch... This restaurant was so busy we couldn't all sit at the same table. I am sitting with Mr. & Mrs. Turpin... yes I use the mr * mrs... one, cause I can't remember her first name and two, because he was my English teacher in high school (small world!) I just can't bring myself to call them by thier first name... I wasn't brought up that way.
